MATCHA WHITE HOT CHOCOLATE with marshmallows on top

Indulge in the richness of this velvety, matcha white hot chocolate, a delicious choice to celebrate the joyous Christmas hot cocoa season! Just 5 minutes to prepare, you can spend ample time nestled on the sofa, relishing this Japanese-inspired twist on the winter classic.

MATCHA WHITE HOT CHOCOLATE

MAKES 1-2 /MADE IN: 5-10 MINS /DIFFICULTY:EASY/ VEGGIE

MATCHA WHITE HOT CHOCOLATE with marshmallows on top

INGREDIENTS


  • 350ml milk of your choice ( I used whole)

  • 90g white chocolate, extra to garnish

  • 1 tbsp premium matcha powder

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1-2 handfuls big + small white marshmallows

  • Salt, to season


METHOD


  1. Heat the milk in a small pan over a medium heat and break the chocolate into pieces. Chuck it into the steaming milk before adding the maple syrup and seasoning with salt. 

  2. Sieve the matcha over the milk and then whisk it into the liquid. Once all the lumps are removed, pour into individual mugs and top with marshmallows.

  3. If you have a blow torch, toast the marshmallows. 

  4. Shred the remaining white chocolate and sprinkle the shards all over the top. Enjoy.
